Hashim Ashraf Qadri, Ph.D.
I completed my PhD at Aligarh Muslim University, where I worked on understanding the physiological and biochemical responses to xenobiotic stresses using an insect model. I am currently an ANRF NPDF fellow at the Centre of BioMedical Research under the mentorship of Dr Shashank Shekhar. My postdoctoral research focuses on RNA biology in neuroscience and disease. I am interested in understanding how RNA–protein interactions and stress-responsive pathways regulate neuronal function and contribute to pathological states. I am also interested in RNA condensates and their role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. Apart from these two areas, my overall fascination lies in the unfolded protein response in the endoplasmic reticulum (UPRER) and broader integrated stress response (ISR) in the cell.
